Montellos Father Marquette Days
Every August for longer than perople around here can remember , Montello has been celebrating the canoe trip of Father Marquette down the Fox River. This year is no exception. On August 16 & 17 th With more attractions added each year families mark this date on their calendar and come out in force. Visitors up for vacation enjoy some small town fun, with lots for the kids to do. This year besides the traditional chicken BBq there will also be sweet corn roasted and the Women's Clubs annual pie sale, crafters with a huge assortment of items up sor sale, Face painting and a magician will have the kids attention as well as all day volleyball, a peddle pull and live band. Sunday will have a tractor pull and for those of you who havent been to one, it is a must, Noisy but alot of fun. This is a family event with alot to do for everyone for not alot of money, with higher gas prices and everything else seeming so expensive this is a great way to spend a weekend. So, come on out and enjoy the day and see what country folk do to celebrate some of their local history. |
